Clothing and Household
Free 24/7 care for children and support for families that are dealing with personal stress or crises such as an illness, housing problems, divorce or separation, financial strains or other issues.
A child’s parent or legal guardian can request:
- Short-term care by licensed providers for children up through age 12
- Crisis support for families
- Information and referrals to additional community resources
Also offers a clothing room for newborn to size 7 in kids clothing, diapers, wipes, blankets, hygiene products and other baby equipment (items are donated, so selection may vary) to those in need, free of charge. Call ahead to schedule a same day appointment.

Caring closets offer a variety of hygiene products, clothing and miscellaneous items for students. Caring closets are located at the Minnehaha Elementary and Two Harbors High Schools. If school is not in session, a caring closet is also available to students at Cooperative Light and Power, Two Harbors.
If you have items to donate, please drop them off at Cooperative Light and Power.

Community Services
- Community Services-Offering area resources in situations of homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment and mental health. No case management commitment; use as often or as little as needed. Assistance with hygiene products, household goods, mailboxes for people experiencing homelessness, free telephone line, safe storage, bus tokens, and gas vouchers (call for program requirements). Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9am-3pm.
- Hygiene Unit-Including showers (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels included), toilets, and sinks. Come to the parking lot doors and you will be greeted by Damiano staff. Drop-ins welcome.
- Health Realization-Cognitive skills-based program that helps individuals manage stress in a positive way. Open to all individuals on Wednesdays at 7pm; women only meetings are Sundays at 7pm (please arrive 15-minutes early for both programs as building doors are locked when the meeting begins).
Clothing and Household
- Clothes that Work-Free clothing for low income individuals that are seeking employment or are employed and need clothing (must provide ID and proof of employment). Also provides accessories, hygiene and beauty products. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am-3pm.
- Free Store: Free clothing and household goods. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am-3pm.
Food Community Kitchen:
- Continental Breakfast 8:30am-9:30am (daily)
- Lunch 11:30am-1pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Dinner 5pm-6pm (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Kids’ Kitchen: Kids ages 6+, no adult needed. Provides healthy meals, nutritional education, and a safe place for kids after school and during the summer. Kids Kitching Programming is offered Monday through Thursday 2:30pm-5:30pm (meal is served from 4pm-5pm). Go to the 2nd Avenue West entrance of the Damiano Center and ring the doorbell.

Housing
- Bethany Crisis Shelter-Offers short-term, emergency housing for youth 17 years and younger with a referral by county social worker, court, or law enforcement. Provides supervised daily living, homebound education, recreational programming, weekly discussion groups, transportation and individual support.
- Another Door Emergency Housing Program-Short-term housing and support for young adults age 18-24 experiencing homelessness. Contact 218-391-5145 for more information.
- Renaissance Transitional Housing-Transitional housing for youth 16-21 years old that are experiencing homelessness. While there, youth will develop skills to live independently.
- Supportive Apartments-Offers long-term housing paired with supportive services for youth ages 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness and meet MN guidelines for homelessness.
- Center for Changing Lives-Located at 1422 East Superior Street, Duluth. Phone 218-529-2230. Offers many options to youth with regards to homelessness and wellness services, including life skills training, educational support, youth groups and more.
Health Care
- Teen Health Clinic-Offers free wellness services including health screenings for teens and young adults who are 13-24 years old. Located at The Center for Changing Lives Duluth, 1422 East Superior Street, Duluth. Call 218-529-2224 for an appointment.
Education
- Oh No Eighteen! (ONE) Independent Living Skills-Independent living skills program that includes education, support, and case management for young people that have been in foster care, residential treatment, group homes or other residential programs.
Children’s Services
- Supervised Visits-Conducts supervised visits for families referred by counties and courts, as well as providing fee-based supervised visits for families who seek them independently. Phone 218-391-9561 for more information.
- Bethany Crisis Nursery-Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children birth through age 12.
- Teen Closet-Offers free new and gently used clothing for youth ages 13-21. Teen closet is open Thursdays from 2pm-6pm. Located on the lower level of the First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior Street, Duluth. Please use London Road entrance.
Groups
- Together for Youth-A community outreach and support group for LGBTQ youth ages 14 to 20. Meets Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm at the Center for Changing Lives, 1422 E Superior Street, Duluth.

Swaddling Clothes is open at First Lutheran Church, Silver Bay, on the third Saturday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Parents, including expectant mothers, can come and receive a package of diapers and wipes. If parents need larger items, such as car seats or cribs, Swaddling Clothes will work to connect them with the item.
