Lake County strives to recruit and select qualified individuals for positions in Lake County. Recruitment and selection will be conducted in an affirmative manner to ensure open competition, provide equal employment opportunity, and to prohibit discrimination.

It is the policy of Lake County to accept applications only when there is a current opening; resumes are not accepted in lieu of an application. Application must be made on an official Lake County application form.

Vacancies open to the public will be posted on the county web site, the wall outside the Human Resources office, in the main lobby of the Courthouse, at the Silver Bay Service Center, and in our legal paper of record, the Northshore Journal.

This office operates under the guidelines of existing collective bargaining agreements and county policy and is responsible for development, implementation and administration of all personnel functions and programs of the county including recruitment and selection, salary administration, labor relations, benefits administration, and policy and procedural development.  The Human Resources Administrator serves as an advisor to the county board and department heads in matters dealing with employee relations or personnel administration.
